The Bambu Lab Hotend Cooling Fan for H2S is an original replacement cooling component designed specifically for the Bambu Lab H2S toolhead.
Installed between the toolhead board and extruder, the fan cools the upper section of the hotend and helps prevent heat from travelling too far upward through the filament path. Maintaining this cooler zone helps keep filament solid until it reaches the intended melting area, reducing the risk of heat creep, premature softening, and hotend clogs.
The current H2S version is identified as FAH047-V1 and replaces the earlier FAH047 revision.
Original Bambu Lab hotend cooling fan
Current part number FAH047-V1
Replaces earlier FAH047 version
Designed specifically for Bambu Lab H2S
Positioned between the toolhead board and extruder
Helps prevent premature filament softening
Reduces the risk of heat-creep-related clogs
Includes the required BT2-4 mounting screws
The nozzle operates at high temperature during printing, while the upper part of the hotend must remain considerably cooler.
The hotend cooling fan continuously moves air across this area, helping maintain the required temperature difference between the cold filament path and the hot melt zone.
Reliable cooling supports smooth filament feeding and consistent extrusion throughout the print.
If insufficient airflow allows heat to travel upward through the hotend, filament can begin softening before reaching the nozzle.
This can contribute to problems such as:
Hotend clogs
Filament jams
Under-extrusion
Extruder clicking
Increased feeding resistance
Failed filament loading
Inconsistent extrusion
Interrupted print jobs
A correctly operating hotend cooling fan helps reduce these heat-related problems.
The FAH047-V1 version is designed around the Bambu Lab H2S toolhead architecture.
Its physical layout, mounting points, cable routing, connector, and airflow arrangement are intended for the H2S.
Cooling fans used by H2D/H2C, P2S, X2D, A1 Series, A2L, and other Bambu Lab printers should not be assumed to be interchangeable.
The current replacement fan is supplied as FAH047-V1.
An earlier FAH047 version also exists. For the earlier version, Bambu Lab specifies that the fan orientation should be checked during installation and adjusted if necessary.
With the revised FAH047-V1 version, this orientation adjustment is not required and the fan can be installed according to the normal replacement procedure.
The hotend cooling fan plays an important role during extended prints where the hotend may remain at operating temperature for many hours.
Continuous airflow helps prevent heat accumulation around the upper hotend and supports stable filament feeding throughout long printing sessions.
This is particularly important during demanding high-speed or high-temperature printing.
Replacement may be appropriate if the original fan develops symptoms such as:
Fan not spinning
Hotend fan speed error
Rattling or whining noise
Reduced airflow
Intermittent fan operation
Damaged fan blades
Damaged wiring or connector
Repeated heat-creep-related clogs
Replacing a failed fan with the correct H2S-specific component helps restore the intended toolhead cooling performance.

H2S hotend cooling
Toolhead maintenance
Replacement of failed cooling fan
Repair of noisy fan
Heat-creep troubleshooting
Hotend maintenance
Preventive spare-part replacement
Print farm maintenance
Workshop and service use
Compatible with:
Bambu Lab H2S
Bambu Lab H2S Laser configuration using the corresponding H2S toolhead
This is the dedicated H2S version. H2D and H2C use a different hotend cooling fan assembly.
1 × Bambu Lab Hotend Cooling Fan for H2S
2 × BT2-4 Screws
Switch off the printer and disconnect it from power before replacing the fan.
During installation:
Remove the required toolhead covers
Disconnect the original fan connector carefully
Avoid pulling directly on the wires
Install the replacement fan in the correct position
Secure it using the supplied BT2-4 screws
Route the cable correctly
Confirm that the fan blades rotate freely
Check normal fan operation after reassembly
If installing an older FAH047 revision, verify the fan orientation according to the Bambu Lab installation procedure. The revised FAH047-V1 version does not require this additional orientation adjustment.
A failed hotend cooling fan can contribute to filament jams and clogs, but similar symptoms may also result from:
Partially blocked nozzle
Damaged hotend
Incorrect filament temperature
Extruder problems
Wet or contaminated filament
Damaged wiring
Loose connector
Toolhead board problems
Correct diagnosis should be carried out before replacing parts.
This product includes the H2S hotend cooling fan and mounting screws only. The hotend, heating assembly, extruder, toolhead board, part cooling fan, and other toolhead components are not included unless separately specified.
