More info

The Creality Y Axis Motor Kit Assembly for K2 Plus is an original replacement motion-control assembly designed for the Creality K2 Plus 3D Printer.

The K2 Plus uses a CoreXY motion system powered by FOC closed-loop step-servo motors. The Y-axis motor works together with the X-axis motor, belts, pulleys, and motion-control electronics to position the toolhead quickly and accurately during printing.

This replacement assembly is suitable for repairing a damaged, worn, or malfunctioning original Y-axis motor system and restoring the precise high-speed motion expected from the K2 Plus.

Key Features

  • Original Creality Y-axis motor assembly

  • Designed specifically for Creality K2 Plus

  • FOC closed-loop step-servo motor technology

  • Integrated position feedback

  • 32,768 controllable microsteps per revolution

  • Designed for the K2 Plus CoreXY motion system

  • Supports high-speed and high-acceleration printing

  • Requires servo motor calibration after replacement

FOC Closed-Loop Step-Servo Motor

The K2 Plus uses closed-loop servo motors rather than conventional open-loop stepper motors for its XYZ motion system.

The motor operates with position feedback, allowing the printer's control system to monitor motor movement rather than relying only on commanded steps.

FOC — Field-Oriented Control — provides controlled motor operation for smooth response, high torque, and accurate positioning.

This helps support:

  • Fast acceleration

  • Smooth movement

  • Accurate toolhead positioning

  • Reduced risk of missed steps

  • Stable high-speed printing

  • Consistent layer alignment

32,768 Microsteps per Revolution

Creality specifies 32,768 controllable microsteps for each revolution of the K2 Plus closed-loop servo motors.

This high control resolution allows the printer to make very fine motor adjustments while maintaining rapid CoreXY movement.

Precise motor control contributes to:

  • Better surface quality

  • Consistent layer positioning

  • Accurate curves

  • Fine model details

  • Smooth travel movement

  • Dimensional accuracy

Designed for the K2 Plus CoreXY System

The K2 Plus uses a CoreXY belt arrangement rather than completely independent X- and Y-axis motors.

Both horizontal motion motors work together through the belt system to determine the direction and position of the toolhead.

Because of this design, the Y-axis motor assembly works together with:

  • X-axis servo motor

  • CoreXY belts

  • Drive pulleys

  • Idler pulleys

  • Belt tensioning system

  • Motion-control electronics

  • X-axis linear guide

A fault in either horizontal motor or belt path can therefore affect movement in multiple directions.

Built for High-Speed Motion

The K2 Plus is designed for high-speed printing and rapid acceleration, placing significant demands on its motion motors.

The closed-loop Y-axis servo motor provides the fast response and positioning control required during:

  • Rapid travel moves

  • Direction changes

  • High-speed perimeter printing

  • Infill printing

  • Acceleration and deceleration

  • Complex CoreXY movement

Using the correct replacement motor helps maintain the printer's original motion characteristics.

Restores Accurate Toolhead Movement

A faulty Y-axis motor assembly may contribute to symptoms such as:

  • X/Y motor errors

  • Failed homing

  • Layer shifts

  • Irregular toolhead movement

  • Grinding or unusual motor noise

  • Positioning errors

  • Motion interruptions

  • Poor high-speed printing performance

  • Servo motor calibration errors

Replacing a confirmed faulty assembly can restore normal CoreXY motion.

Integrated Closed-Loop Feedback

The K2 Plus servo system uses motor feedback to monitor position during operation.

This helps the control system detect when actual motor movement does not correspond correctly with the commanded movement.

The closed-loop architecture is one of the key differences between the K2 Plus motion system and traditional open-loop desktop 3D printer stepper systems.

Dedicated Y-Axis Assembly

The Y-axis motor assembly is a printer-specific replacement component rather than a generic stepper motor.

The complete assembly is designed around the K2 Plus:

  • Mechanical mounting

  • Motor position

  • Pulley arrangement

  • Belt path

  • Electrical connections

  • Servo feedback

  • Firmware control

A conventional open-loop stepper motor should not be used as a substitute.

Part Number

Current replacement-part references identify the K2 Plus Y-axis motor assembly as:

2102013352

K2 Plus printers have undergone hardware revisions, and some replacement-part listings may use different numbering or assembly configurations.

Before ordering, compare the replacement part with the original component.

Hardware Revision Note

Different K2 Plus production revisions may use changes in the motor assembly, housing, wiring, or connector arrangement.

Before installation, confirm:

  • Motor assembly shape

  • Connector type

  • Cable arrangement

  • Mounting points

  • Pulley configuration

  • Belt tensioning arrangement

  • Original part number

  • Printer hardware revision where applicable

Matching the physical assembly is especially important when servicing earlier and later K2 Plus production units.

Package Includes

  • 1 × Creality Y Axis Motor Kit Assembly for K2 Plus

Only the components supplied as part of the selected motor assembly are included. Belts, X-axis motor, linear guides, mainboard, separate wiring, and other motion components are not included unless specifically stated.

Installation Note

Replacing the Y-axis motor requires working with the K2 Plus CoreXY belt system and should be carried out carefully.

Before replacement:

  • Switch off the printer

  • Disconnect mains power

  • Allow heated components to cool

  • Record the original cable routing

  • Record the CoreXY belt routing

  • Release belt tension correctly

  • Disconnect the original motor and feedback connections

  • Install the replacement assembly in the correct orientation

  • Check pulley alignment

  • Restore correct belt routing

  • Restore the correct belt tension

  • Reconnect all electrical connections

Incorrect belt routing or tension can cause motion errors, abnormal noise, poor dimensional accuracy, or layer shifting.

Servo Motor Calibration

After installing the new Y-axis motor, perform the K2 Plus servo motor calibration procedure.

The K2 Plus provides dedicated calibration for:

  • X-axis servo motor

  • Y-axis servo motor

  • Z1-axis servo motor

  • Z2-axis servo motor

Calibration allows the printer to correctly configure the closed-loop motor system after service or replacement.

Do not return the machine directly to high-speed printing without completing the required calibration and motion checks.

Troubleshooting Note

A Y-axis or CoreXY movement error does not necessarily mean the Y-axis motor itself has failed.

Similar symptoms can result from:

  • Loose motor connector

  • Damaged motor cable

  • Servo communication problem

  • Incorrect belt tension

  • Damaged CoreXY belt

  • Worn pulley

  • Damaged idler

  • Belt routing problem

  • Motion obstruction

  • Linear motion problem

  • Mainboard fault

  • Belt tensioning system problem

The K2 Plus includes servo motor diagnostic and calibration functions, so the motor should be confirmed faulty before replacement.

Usage Note

This is a specialized K2 Plus closed-loop servo motor assembly and should not be treated as a conventional generic stepper motor.

After replacement, verify belt routing, belt tension, connector installation, smooth toolhead movement, and servo calibration before returning the printer to normal high-speed operation.
