More info

The Creality CR Touch is an automatic bed-leveling sensor designed to measure multiple points across a 3D printer's build plate and allow the printer to compensate for small variations in bed height during printing.

This listing includes the CR Touch sensor only. It does not include the connection cable, mounting bracket, screws, or complete installation kit, making it particularly suitable as a replacement for a damaged or malfunctioning CR Touch on a printer that already has the necessary wiring and mounting hardware.

Using an optical sensing system together with a durable metal probe, CR Touch provides accurate and repeatable bed detection to support consistent first layers and reduce the amount of manual bed-level adjustment required.

Key Features

  • Original Creality CR Touch auto-leveling sensor

  • Sensor only replacement version

  • Multi-point build plate detection

  • Automatic bed-level compensation

  • Optical sensing technology

  • Durable metal probe

  • Approx. 0.04mm positioning accuracy

  • Ideal replacement for an existing CR Touch sensor

Automatic Bed Leveling

CR Touch measures the build plate at multiple positions before printing.

The printer uses these measurements to create a representation of the bed surface and compensate for small height variations while printing the first layers.

This helps improve consistency even when the build plate is not perfectly parallel to the printer's X-axis.

More Reliable First Layers

The first layer is one of the most important stages of FDM 3D printing.

Incorrect nozzle-to-bed distance can lead to:

  • Poor bed adhesion

  • Uneven first layers

  • Nozzle scraping

  • Filament not sticking

  • Excessive first-layer compression

  • Failed prints

CR Touch helps the printer compensate for small bed-height differences and maintain a more consistent nozzle distance across the build surface.

Optical Sensor Technology

CR Touch uses an optical sensing system to detect the movement of its probe.

When the metal probe contacts the build surface, the sensor detects its position and communicates the measurement to the printer.

This provides a contact-based leveling system suitable for a wide variety of build surfaces.

Durable Metal Probe

Unlike leveling sensors that use a plastic probing pin, CR Touch uses a metal probe.

The metal construction provides good durability for repeated probing cycles during normal printer operation.

The probe should still be protected from impacts, excessive sideways force, and collisions with the build plate or printed models.

Multi-Point Detection and Smart Compensation

CR Touch does more than measure a single Z-height.

Compatible firmware can probe multiple positions across the bed and use the measurements to compensate for surface variation during printing.

This helps reduce the effect of:

  • Slightly uneven build plates

  • Small mechanical alignment differences

  • Minor bed tilt

  • Variations across larger printing surfaces

CR Touch does not replace correct mechanical setup. The printer frame, gantry, bed, wheels, rails, and other components should still be correctly adjusted.

Replacement Sensor Only

This product is particularly suitable when a printer already has a CR Touch installation but the original sensor needs replacement.

It can be useful for conditions such as:

  • Damaged probe

  • Bent probe pin

  • Sensor not deploying

  • Sensor not retracting

  • Intermittent probing

  • Leveling errors

  • Physical damage to the CR Touch body

Before replacing the sensor, check the wiring, connector, firmware, and mechanical installation because similar errors may have other causes.

Important: No Cable or Bracket Included

This listing contains only the CR Touch sensor.

It does not include:

  • CR Touch connection cable

  • Mounting bracket

  • Mounting screws

  • Extension cable

  • Mainboard adapter

  • Printer-specific installation accessories

If installing CR Touch on a printer that did not originally have one, the correct cable, bracket, compatible mainboard connection, and supported firmware will also be required.

Applications

  • Replacement of damaged CR Touch

  • Automatic bed leveling

  • Build plate height measurement

  • First-layer consistency improvement

  • 3D printer maintenance

  • Printer repair

  • CR Touch replacement

  • Custom 3D printer projects with compatible electronics and firmware

Compatibility

CR Touch can be used with compatible Creality and other FDM 3D printers that support this type of automatic leveling sensor.

For a direct replacement, confirm that the existing printer already uses a compatible CR Touch connection and mounting arrangement.

For a new installation, compatibility depends on:

  • Printer model

  • Mainboard

  • Sensor connector

  • Firmware

  • Mounting bracket

  • Cable type

  • Probe position relative to the nozzle

Do not assume that the bare sensor can be installed directly on every printer without additional hardware or firmware configuration.

Installation Note

When replacing an existing CR Touch:

  • Switch off and disconnect the printer from power

  • Remove the existing CR Touch carefully

  • Reuse the correct original bracket and cable if they are in good condition

  • Connect the sensor securely

  • Confirm that the probe can deploy and retract freely

  • Update or verify firmware if necessary

  • Perform homing and bed leveling before printing

  • Check the Z-offset after installation

Never allow the nozzle to crash into the build plate during initial testing.

Troubleshooting Note

A CR Touch leveling error does not necessarily mean the sensor itself has failed.

Similar symptoms can also be caused by:

  • Loose or damaged sensor cable

  • Incorrect wiring

  • Damaged connector

  • Unsupported firmware

  • Incorrect Z-offset

  • Bent mounting bracket

  • Probe obstruction

  • Mainboard problems

  • Mechanical Z-axis issues

Check the complete leveling system before replacing components.

Package Includes

  • 1 × Creality CR Touch Auto Bed Leveling Sensor

Package Does Not Include

  • Connection Wire / Cable

  • Mounting Bracket

  • Mounting Screws

  • Complete CR Touch Upgrade Kit

Usage Note

This is the sensor-only replacement version of the Creality CR Touch. It is best suited for printers that already have the correct CR Touch mounting bracket, connection cable, compatible electronics, and firmware.

For a first-time CR Touch upgrade, purchase the appropriate complete installation kit or obtain the required printer-specific bracket, cable, and firmware separately.
