The Bambu Lab Hotend Cooling Fan for A2L is an original replacement cooling component designed specifically for the Bambu Lab A2L toolhead.
Its main function is to cool the upper section of the hotend so filament remains solid until it reaches the intended melt zone. Maintaining this temperature separation helps reduce heat creep, premature filament softening, extrusion blockages, and hotend clogs during printing.
The FAF027 fan is the dedicated A2L version and is suitable for replacing a damaged, noisy, or non-functioning original hotend cooling fan.
Original Bambu Lab replacement hotend cooling fan
Part number FAF027
Designed specifically for Bambu Lab A2L
Cools the upper section of the hotend
Helps reduce heat creep and premature filament softening
Supports reliable filament feeding and extrusion
Suitable for replacement of a failed or noisy original fan
Includes the required BT2×4 mounting screws
The nozzle and heater operate at high temperatures during printing, while the upper section of the hotend needs to remain comparatively cool.
The hotend cooling fan provides airflow across this area to limit unwanted heat transfer toward the filament inlet and extruder.
This helps maintain a clearly defined transition between the cold filament path and the hot melt zone.
If the upper hotend becomes too warm, filament may begin softening before it reaches the intended melting area.
This condition can contribute to problems such as:
Hotend clogs
Filament jams
Under-extrusion
Inconsistent material flow
Extruder clicking
Increased feeding resistance
Failed prints
A correctly operating hotend cooling fan helps reduce these heat-related issues.
The FAF027 fan is designed for the Bambu Lab A2L toolhead.
Its physical dimensions, mounting arrangement, wiring, and connection are intended for the A2L and should not be confused with fans used on other Bambu Lab printer families.
Different models such as the A1 Series, P2S, X2D, H2D, H2C, and H2S use their own dedicated hotend cooling fan versions.
The hotend cooling fan operates as part of the printer's thermal management system during printing.
Reliable airflow becomes particularly important during long prints where the hotend remains heated for many hours.
Maintaining correct cooling helps keep filament feeding stable throughout extended print jobs.
Replacement may be appropriate if the original fan develops symptoms such as:
Fan not spinning
Intermittent fan operation
Unusual mechanical noise
Reduced airflow
Damaged fan blades
Damaged cable or connector
Repeated heat-creep-related clogging
Replacing the fan with the correct A2L-specific component helps restore the intended hotend cooling performance.
The Bambu Lab A2L uses closed-loop control for its hotend cooling fan.
This allows the printer to monitor and manage fan operation as part of the toolhead cooling system, supporting consistent thermal performance during printing.

Replacement of failed cooling fan
Repair of noisy fan
Heat-creep troubleshooting
Hotend maintenance
Preventive spare-part replacement
Print farm maintenance
Service and repair work
Compatible with:
Bambu Lab A2L
This is the dedicated A2L version and should not be assumed compatible with other Bambu Lab models.
1 × Bambu Lab Hotend Cooling Fan for A2L
2 × BT2×4 Screws
Switch off the printer and disconnect it from power before replacing the fan.
During installation:
Remove the toolhead covers as required
Disconnect the existing fan connector carefully
Avoid pulling directly on the wires
Install the new fan in the correct orientation
Secure it with the supplied BT2×4 screws
Route the fan cable correctly
Make sure the fan blades rotate freely
Confirm normal fan operation after reassembly
A failed hotend cooling fan can cause heat-creep-related feeding problems, but similar symptoms may also be caused by:
A partially blocked nozzle
Damaged hotend
Incorrect printing temperature
Wet or contaminated filament
Extruder problems
Toolhead wiring faults
Damaged connectors
Proper diagnosis should be carried out before replacing parts.
This product includes the A2L hotend cooling fan and mounting screws only. The hotend, heating assembly, extruder, toolhead board, part cooling fan, and other toolhead components are not included unless separately specified.
