More info

The AlgoLaser Smoke Purifier is designed to capture and filter smoke, fine particles, odors, and airborne contaminants generated during laser engraving and cutting. It is a practical addition to laser workshops, studios, schools, makerspaces, and small businesses that regularly process materials such as wood, leather, acrylic, and similar laser-compatible materials.

With a powerful 150W extraction system and airflow up to 258m³/h, the purifier helps draw smoke away from the engraving area and pass it through a multi-stage filtration system before releasing the filtered air.

It can be used together with an AlgoLaser enclosure for a more effective smoke extraction setup, or positioned near the laser working area when an enclosure is not being used.

Key Features

  • Smoke purifier designed for laser engraving and cutting

  • Compatible with all AlgoLaser laser engraving machines

  • 150W high-flow purification system

  • Airflow up to 258m³/h

  • Air speed up to 38m/s

  • Three-stage replaceable filtration system

  • Up to 99.97% filtration efficiency for particles above 0.3µm

  • Helps filter smoke, fine particles, odors, PM2.5, PM10, formaldehyde, and TVOC

Designed for Laser Engraving Smoke

Laser engraving and cutting can generate smoke, fine dust, odors, and airborne particles depending on the material being processed.

The AlgoLaser Smoke Purifier is specifically designed to collect this contaminated air close to the engraving area and pass it through its internal filter system, helping create a cleaner and more manageable laser workspace.

It is particularly useful when engraving or cutting materials such as wood, plywood, leather, acrylic, and other compatible materials that produce noticeable smoke or odor.

Powerful 258m³/h Airflow

The purifier provides airflow of up to 258m³/h, allowing it to capture smoke quickly during engraving and cutting.

A maximum air speed of up to 38m/s helps move contaminated air through the extraction pipe and filtration system.

Correct hose positioning is important for effective smoke capture. When used without an enclosure, the extraction hose should be positioned as close as practical to the engraving area.

Three-Stage Filtration System

The AlgoLaser Smoke Purifier uses a three-stage replaceable filtration system designed to capture particles of different sizes and help reduce odors and other contaminants.

The filtration system includes:

  • Primary filter cotton

  • Medium-efficiency filter

  • High-efficiency filter

AlgoLaser specifies filtration efficiency of up to 99.97% for particles larger than 0.3µm under its stated test conditions.

Helps Filter Fine Particles and Odors

The filtration system is designed to help reduce contaminants commonly generated during laser processing, including:

  • PM2.5

  • PM10

  • Smoke particles

  • Dust

  • Odors

  • Formaldehyde

  • TVOC

Actual purification performance depends on the processed material, airflow, enclosure setup, hose position, filter condition, and working environment.

Recommended with a Laser Enclosure

For improved smoke collection, AlgoLaser recommends using the purifier together with a laser enclosure.

An enclosure helps contain smoke around the machine while the purifier extracts contaminated air through the connected hose. This can be more effective than attempting to collect smoke directly from an open-frame laser.

The purifier can be paired with the AlgoLaser Smart Enclosure 2.0 or other compatible enclosure setups.

Can Also Be Used Without an Enclosure

The Smoke Purifier can also be used with an open-frame laser engraver.

For this setup, position the extraction hose directly above or close to the engraving area so smoke can be captured before spreading into the room.

When using a honeycomb working panel, the extraction pipe can be positioned around the honeycomb area according to the engraving setup.

Replaceable Filter System

The internal filters are replaceable, allowing the purifier to maintain effective airflow and filtration during long-term use.

AlgoLaser's replacement filter pack includes:

  • 8 × Primary Filter Cottons

  • 2 × Medium-Efficiency Filters

  • 1 × High-Efficiency Filter

Filter replacement frequency depends heavily on the material being processed, engraving frequency, smoke volume, and working environment.

Recommended Filter Replacement Intervals

AlgoLaser provides the following general replacement guidance:

Filter TypeRecommended Replacement Interval
Primary Filter CottonApproximately 30 Days
Medium-Efficiency FilterApproximately 6–8 Months
High-Efficiency FilterApproximately 7–12 Months

These intervals are general recommendations. Heavy laser cutting, MDF processing, frequent wood cutting, or other smoke-intensive work may require more frequent filter replacement.

Recommended Setup

For best smoke collection:

  1. Place the laser engraver inside a compatible enclosure where possible.

  2. Connect the purifier extraction hose to the enclosure outlet.

  3. Make sure the hose is not sharply bent or blocked.

  4. Keep the purifier air inlet and outlet unobstructed.

  5. Check and replace filters when airflow begins to decrease or filters become heavily contaminated.

Usage Note

The Smoke Purifier helps reduce smoke, particles, and odors generated by laser engraving and cutting, but it does not replace appropriate workshop ventilation or safe material selection.

Never laser cut or engrave materials that can release hazardous or corrosive gases. Regularly inspect the extraction hose and filters, and replace contaminated filters as required to maintain effective airflow and purification performance.
