The Anycubic Dual Sided Textured PEI Steel Build Plate is a large-format flexible printing surface designed for the Anycubic Kobra 3 Max and Kobra 3 Max Combo.
With textured PEI coating on both sides and a flexible spring-steel core, the plate provides reliable first-layer adhesion while allowing finished models to be removed more easily after cooling. Its approximately 430 × 429mm overall size is designed around the Kobra 3 Max's large 420 × 420mm printing area.
Both sides can be used for printing, extending the usable life of the plate and making it a practical replacement or spare surface for users regularly producing large-format models.
Dual-sided textured PEI printing surface
Flexible spring-steel construction
Designed for Anycubic Kobra 3 Max
Approx. 430 × 429mm overall plate size
0.6mm spring-steel plate thickness
Works with the Kobra 3 Max magnetic heated bed
Flexible design for easier model removal
Suitable as a replacement or spare build plate
Both sides of the build plate feature a micro-textured PEI surface.
This allows either face to be used for printing and provides a second usable surface when one side becomes worn or damaged.
The textured coating also transfers a fine textured finish to the bottom surface of printed models.
The Kobra 3 Max provides a large:
420 × 420 × 500mm build volume
and requires a correspondingly large build plate.
The approximately 430 × 429mm spring-steel plate provides the physical surface required to cover the printer's 420 × 420mm usable XY printing area.
This makes it suitable for large projects such as:
Functional prototypes
Large decorative models
Cosplay components
Furniture prototypes
Signs and lettering
Large organizers
Production parts
Multi-part assemblies
Textured PEI provides good adhesion for many commonly used FDM materials when the build surface is clean and the correct bed temperature is selected.
A properly prepared PEI surface helps reduce common first-layer problems including:
Warping
Corner lifting
First-layer separation
Model movement during printing
Uneven bottom surfaces
Correct bed leveling, Z-offset, filament temperature, and surface cleanliness remain important.
The build plate uses a flexible spring-steel core rather than a rigid glass surface.
After the print has cooled, the plate can be removed from the magnetic bed and gently flexed.
This helps release large printed models without requiring excessive scraping or force.
The spring steel then returns to its normal flat shape for the next print.
The Kobra 3 Max uses a magnetic PEI spring-steel build plate system.
The replacement plate attaches directly to the printer's magnetic heated bed, allowing it to be:
Installed without tools
Removed quickly
Repositioned easily
Swapped with another compatible plate
Always make sure the underside of the plate and the magnetic surface are clean before installation.
The Kobra 3 Max build plate includes rear alignment features designed to match the locating arrangement on the heated bed.
Correct positioning helps the plate sit consistently in the intended location when it is removed and reinstalled.
Always verify that the plate is fully seated and not resting on debris before starting a print.
The Anycubic Kobra 3 Max heated bed supports temperatures up to:
90°C
The PEI spring-steel plate is designed to operate with this heated magnetic platform.
Select bed temperature according to the filament being used rather than automatically operating at the maximum temperature.
The textured PEI surface can be used with a range of compatible materials including:
PLA
PLA+
PETG
TPU
ABS
ASA
Silk PLA
Wood-filled PLA
Other compatible FDM filaments
Adhesion behavior varies between materials.
Some filaments can bond strongly to PEI, so an appropriate release layer may be useful depending on the filament and printing conditions.
After printing:
Allow the build plate and model to cool.
Remove the plate from the magnetic bed.
Gently flex the spring steel.
Allow the model to release from the textured PEI surface.
Large prints often release significantly more easily after the plate has cooled.
Avoid aggressively bending the plate or forcing parts off with sharp tools.
A second plate can improve workflow for users who print frequently.
One plate can remain with a completed model while it cools, while another plate is installed for the next print.
This is useful for:
Print farms
Small-batch manufacturing
Workshops
Schools
Prototyping
Continuous large-format printing

Compatible with:
Anycubic Kobra 3 Max
Anycubic Kobra 3 Max Combo
The plate should not automatically be assumed compatible with other Anycubic printers simply because they have similar build volumes.
Correct plate dimensions and rear alignment geometry should always be confirmed.
Keeping the PEI surface clean is important for reliable adhesion.
For routine maintenance:
Allow the plate to cool before cleaning
Remove filament residue after printing
Handle the plate mainly by the edges
Avoid touching the printing surface with oily fingers
Clean the surface when adhesion begins to decrease
Avoid sharp metal scrapers
Avoid highly aggressive solvents
Surface contamination is one of the most common causes of reduced PEI adhesion.
Before installing the build plate:
Clean the magnetic bed
Remove any filament fragments or debris
Align the plate with the rear locating points
Make sure the complete plate sits flat
Check that no corner is lifted
Run bed leveling if required
Verify the first layer before starting a long print
Replacing a build plate can slightly change the nozzle-to-bed relationship, so checking the first layer after installation is recommended.
1 × Dual Sided Textured PEI Spring Steel Build Plate for Anycubic Kobra 3 Max
Allow the plate to cool before removing large printed models whenever possible.
For materials that bond very strongly to PEI, use appropriate filament-specific release practices rather than forcing the model from the surface. This helps extend the life of the textured coating and reduces the risk of damaging the spring-steel plate.
