The Anycubic Hardened Steel Nozzle for Kobra X is an original replacement nozzle designed for the quick-release hotend system of the Anycubic Kobra X and Kobra X Combo.
Hardened steel provides improved resistance to abrasive filament compared with conventional brass, making it particularly suitable for materials such as PLA-CF and PETG-CF. The Kobra X comes standard with a 0.4mm hardened-steel nozzle, while 0.6mm and 0.8mm hardened-steel options provide increased material flow for faster printing and larger parts.
Combined with the Kobra X's high-speed extrusion system and maximum hotend temperature of 300°C, these nozzles provide a durable solution for both everyday printing and compatible composite materials.
Original Anycubic hardened-steel nozzle
Designed for Anycubic Kobra X and Kobra X Combo
Available in 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm sizes
Higher wear resistance than standard brass
Suitable for compatible abrasive composite filaments
Works with the Kobra X snap-lock quick-release hotend
Supports high-speed printing workflows
Suitable for replacement, maintenance, and nozzle-size changes
Hardened steel is designed to withstand the abrasive particles found in many reinforced 3D printing materials.
Filaments containing carbon fiber can gradually wear a softer brass nozzle, enlarging the nozzle opening and affecting extrusion accuracy.
A hardened-steel nozzle provides improved durability when regularly printing materials such as:
PLA-CF
PETG-CF
Other compatible abrasive composite filaments
It can also be used with conventional non-abrasive filament.
Anycubic currently offers hardened-steel Kobra X nozzles in three diameters.
| Nozzle Diameter | Typical Application |
|---|---|
| 0.4mm | General-purpose printing and fine detail |
| 0.6mm | Faster printing, higher flow and composite filament |
| 0.8mm | High-flow printing, thick layers and large models |
The best nozzle size depends on the required balance between detail, material flow, print speed, and model size.
The 0.4mm hardened-steel nozzle is the standard configuration supplied with the Kobra X.
It provides a balanced combination of:
Print detail
Surface quality
Material flow
Layer-height flexibility
General-purpose usability
It is suitable for users who want one nozzle for both standard filament and selected abrasive materials.
The 0.6mm nozzle provides a larger extrusion opening, allowing more material to flow through the hotend.
It is useful for:
Faster printing
Larger functional parts
Carbon-fiber-filled filament
Thicker walls
Strong prototypes
Reduced clogging risk with filled materials
The larger nozzle sacrifices some very fine detail in exchange for greater material throughput.
The 0.8mm version is designed for applications where high material flow and shorter production time are more important than maximum detail.
It is particularly suitable for:
Large models
Thick layers
Rapid prototyping
Large functional components
High-flow extrusion
Selected composite materials
A suitable slicer profile should always be used when changing to a larger nozzle diameter.
The Kobra X uses a snap-lock quick-release hotend design.
The hotend can be released through the locking mechanism, simplifying maintenance and making it easier to switch between different nozzle configurations.
This is useful for users who regularly change between:
0.4mm for general printing
0.6mm for faster functional printing
0.8mm for large high-flow models
Always allow the hotend to cool before servicing the toolhead.
The Kobra X supports a maximum nozzle temperature of:
300°C
This allows the printer to handle a broad range of compatible materials.
Anycubic officially lists Kobra X support for materials including:
PLA
PETG
TPU
PVA
PLA-CF
PETG-CF
ASA
Actual printing temperature should always follow the recommendations for the selected filament rather than using the maximum hotend temperature by default.
The hardened-steel nozzle is particularly useful when printing carbon-fiber-filled filament.
Abrasive particles in these materials can wear softer nozzles over time, which may cause:
Increased nozzle diameter
Over-extrusion
Reduced dimensional accuracy
Inconsistent line width
Poorer surface quality
Hardened steel significantly improves resistance to this type of wear.

Compatible with:
Anycubic Kobra X
Anycubic Kobra X Combo
Anycubic also lists the same hardened-steel nozzle family as compatible with:
Anycubic Kobra 4 / Kobra 4 Combo
Anycubic Kobra 3 Max V2 / Combo
Compatibility should still be confirmed according to the exact printer and hotend revision before installation.
Anycubic separates the Kobra X nozzle range by material and diameter.
Hardened Steel
0.4mm
0.6mm
0.8mm
Better suited to abrasive filament
Brass
0.25mm
Intended primarily for fine-detail printing
The 0.25mm Kobra X nozzle should therefore not be described as a hardened-steel variant.
1 × Anycubic Hardened Steel Nozzle for Kobra X
Nozzle diameter depends on the selected variant.
Before replacing the nozzle:
Switch off the printer
Allow the hotend to cool completely
Open the quick-release mechanism according to the Anycubic procedure
Remove the existing hotend/nozzle assembly carefully
Confirm the diameter of the replacement nozzle
Install the replacement securely
Close the locking mechanism correctly
Update the nozzle diameter in the printer and slicer if changing sizes
Run the appropriate calibration
Check the first layer before starting a long print
When changing nozzle diameter, update the nozzle settings in Anycubic Slicer Next or the selected compatible slicer.
Settings that may require adjustment include:
Nozzle diameter
Layer height
Line width
Flow rate
Print speed
Maximum volumetric flow
Retraction
Filament profile
Using settings intended for a different nozzle diameter can result in poor extrusion or inaccurate prints.
Choose the nozzle size according to the required balance between detail and material flow.
For normal general-purpose printing, the standard 0.4mm hardened-steel nozzle provides the most versatile configuration. For larger parts, abrasive composite filament, or faster extrusion, the 0.6mm or 0.8mm versions may be more suitable.
