More info

The Anycubic Dual Sided Textured PEI Steel Build Plate is a flexible replacement printing surface designed for the Anycubic Kobra 3 Series.

With textured PEI surfaces on both sides and a flexible spring-steel core, the plate provides reliable first-layer adhesion during printing while allowing finished models to be removed easily after the plate cools. Simply remove the flexible plate from the magnetic bed and gently bend it to release the printed part.

Measuring approximately 268 × 256mm, it is designed to fit the Kobra 3 build platform and can be used as a replacement for a worn or damaged original plate or as a spare build surface for faster print turnaround.

Key Features

  • Dual-sided textured PEI printing surface

  • Flexible spring-steel construction

  • Designed for Anycubic Kobra 3 Series

  • Approx. 268 × 256mm plate size

  • Works with the printer's magnetic heated-bed system

  • Strong first-layer adhesion for compatible materials

  • Flexible design allows easier model removal

  • Both sides can be used for printing

Dual-Sided Textured PEI Surface

Both sides of the build plate feature a textured PEI printing surface.

This allows either side to be used for printing and provides a practical backup surface if one side becomes worn, scratched, or temporarily unavailable.

The textured finish also transfers a fine textured pattern onto the bottom surface of the printed model.

Reliable First-Layer Adhesion

PEI is widely used as a 3D printer build surface because it provides good adhesion for many common FDM materials when the plate is clean and the correct bed temperature is used.

A consistent first layer helps reduce problems such as:

  • Corner lifting

  • Warping

  • First-layer separation

  • Parts moving during printing

  • Uneven bottom surfaces

Correct Z-offset, bed leveling, temperature, and a clean surface are still essential for reliable adhesion.

Flexible Spring-Steel Core

The build plate uses spring steel rather than a rigid glass platform.

After printing, the plate can be lifted away from the magnetic bed and gently flexed.

This helps release finished models without repeatedly scraping them from the printing surface.

Once released, the plate returns to its normal flat shape for the next print.

Magnetic Installation

The steel plate is designed to sit on the Kobra 3 magnetic heated-bed system.

This allows the plate to be:

  • Installed quickly

  • Removed without tools

  • Repositioned easily

  • Swapped with another compatible plate

Always make sure the underside of the plate and magnetic bed are clean before installation.

Small pieces of filament or debris trapped underneath can prevent the plate from sitting flat.

Designed for Kobra 3 Series

The plate measures approximately:

268 × 256mm

and is designed around the Kobra 3 build platform.

Official Anycubic accessory compatibility includes:

  • Anycubic Kobra 3

  • Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo

  • Anycubic Kobra 3 V2

  • Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 Combo

The Combo versions use the same printer build platform as their standalone counterparts.

Up to 110°C Heated Bed

The Kobra 3 platform supports heated-bed temperatures up to 110°C.

The PEI spring-steel plate is designed to work with the printer's heated magnetic bed, allowing bed temperature to be selected according to the filament being used.

Always follow the filament manufacturer's recommended bed temperature.

Suitable for Common FDM Materials

A textured PEI surface can be used with a range of compatible 1.75mm FDM materials, including common materials such as:

  • PLA

  • PLA+

  • PETG

  • TPU

  • Other compatible filaments

Adhesion behavior varies between materials.

Some filaments can bond very strongly to PEI, so an appropriate release layer or adhesive may be useful depending on the material and printing conditions.

Easy Print Removal

After printing:

  1. Allow the build plate and model to cool.

  2. Lift the steel plate away from the magnetic bed.

  3. Gently flex the plate.

  4. Allow the model to release naturally.

Avoid aggressively bending the plate or using excessive force on delicate prints.

Useful as a Spare Build Plate

Keeping an additional build plate can improve workflow when printing frequently.

One plate can cool with a finished print while another is installed for the next job.

This is useful for:

  • Print farms

  • Small-batch production

  • Workshops

  • Schools

  • Continuous prototyping

  • Regular Kobra 3 users

The plate should not automatically be assumed compatible with other Kobra models that use different build-platform dimensions.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Keeping the PEI surface clean is important for reliable first-layer adhesion.

For routine maintenance:

  • Allow the plate to cool before cleaning

  • Remove filament residue after printing

  • Avoid touching the printing area unnecessarily with oily fingers

  • Clean the surface when adhesion begins to decrease

  • Avoid sharp metal tools that can damage the PEI coating

Do not use abrasive materials that can unnecessarily wear the textured surface.

Installation Note

Before installing the build plate:

  • Check that the magnetic bed is clean

  • Remove any filament fragments or debris

  • Align the plate correctly with the heated bed

  • Make sure it sits completely flat

  • Perform bed leveling when required

  • Verify the Z-offset before starting an important print

A changed or replaced build plate can slightly alter the nozzle-to-bed relationship, so checking the first layer after installation is recommended.

Package Includes

  • 1 × Anycubic Dual Sided Textured PEI Spring Steel Build Plate for Kobra 3 Series

Usage Note

Allow the build plate to cool before removing most finished models. Parts often release more easily as both the printed material and PEI surface return toward room temperature.

Avoid forcing a strongly adhered part from the surface with a sharp scraper, as this can damage the PEI coating. If a material bonds unusually strongly to PEI, use suitable printing and release procedures for that specific filament.
