More info

The Anycubic Dual Sided Textured PEI Steel Build Plate is a flexible magnetic printing surface designed for the Anycubic Kobra S1 and Kobra S1 Combo.

Featuring textured PEI coating on both sides and a flexible spring-steel core, the plate provides reliable first-layer adhesion while allowing finished models to be removed easily after cooling. Simply lift the plate from the magnetic heated bed and flex it gently to release the printed part.

Measuring approximately 276 × 264mm, the plate is designed around the Kobra S1's 250 × 250mm printing area and can be used as a replacement for a worn original plate or as a spare surface for frequent printing.

Key Features

  • Dual-sided textured PEI printing surface

  • Flexible spring-steel construction

  • Designed for Anycubic Kobra S1 Series

  • Approx. 276 × 264mm overall size

  • Approx. 0.4mm plate thickness

  • Works with the Kobra S1 magnetic heated bed

  • Strong adhesion for compatible FDM materials

  • Flexible design for easier model removal

Dual-Sided Textured PEI

Both sides of the plate feature a textured PEI coating, allowing either surface to be used for printing.

This provides two usable printing faces and helps extend the practical service life of the build plate.

The textured PEI surface also transfers a fine textured appearance to the bottom of printed models.

Reliable First-Layer Adhesion

PEI is widely used as a 3D printer build surface because it provides good adhesion with many common FDM materials when correctly heated and kept clean.

A properly prepared textured PEI surface helps reduce issues such as:

  • Warping

  • Corner lifting

  • First-layer separation

  • Parts moving during printing

  • Uneven bottom surfaces

Correct bed leveling, Z-offset, temperature, and surface cleanliness are still important for reliable first layers.

Flexible Spring-Steel Core

The build plate uses a thin flexible spring-steel base rather than a rigid glass platform.

After a print has cooled, the plate can be removed from the magnetic bed and gently flexed.

This helps release the printed model without repeatedly scraping underneath it with tools.

Once released, the spring steel returns to its normal flat shape for the next print.

Magnetic Installation

The Kobra S1 uses a magnetic heated-bed system designed for removable spring-steel build plates.

The plate can be:

  • Installed without tools

  • Removed quickly

  • Repositioned easily

  • Swapped with another compatible plate

Always make sure the underside of the plate and magnetic bed are clean before installation.

Even a small piece of filament or debris trapped underneath can prevent the plate from sitting completely flat.

Designed for Kobra S1

The build plate measures approximately:

276 × 264mm

and is designed for the Kobra S1 platform.

Compatible printers include:

  • Anycubic Kobra S1

  • Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo

The Combo version uses the same printer build platform as the standalone Kobra S1.

250 × 250mm Printing Area

The Kobra S1 provides a:

250 × 250mm XY printing area

within the larger physical spring-steel plate.

The additional plate area allows the sheet to align correctly with the heated bed while providing the printer's full usable build area.

Heated Bed up to 120°C

The Kobra S1 heated bed supports temperatures up to:

120°C

The PEI spring-steel build plate is designed to work with this heated magnetic platform.

Actual bed temperature should always be selected according to the filament being printed.

Typical textured PEI applications include materials such as:

  • PLA

  • PLA-CF

  • PETG

  • PETG-CF

  • TPU

  • ABS

  • ASA

  • PC

  • PA

Material adhesion varies, and the correct filament profile should always be used.

Suitable for Enclosed Printing

The Kobra S1 is an enclosed CoreXY printer, making it suitable for materials that benefit from a warmer and more stable printing environment.

The textured PEI plate provides a versatile build surface for both everyday PLA printing and selected higher-temperature materials supported by the printer.

For materials such as ABS, ASA, PC, or PA, correct bed temperature and chamber conditions remain important for successful printing.

Easy Model Removal

After the print is complete:

  1. Allow the build plate and model to cool.

  2. Lift the spring-steel plate from the magnetic bed.

  3. Gently flex the plate.

  4. Allow the printed part to release from the PEI surface.

Many materials release more easily as the build plate cools.

Avoid excessive bending or using sharp tools against the textured PEI coating.

Useful as a Spare Build Plate

Keeping a second build plate can improve workflow for users who print frequently.

One plate can remain with a finished model while it cools, while another plate is installed immediately for the next job.

This is useful for:

  • Print farms

  • Small-batch production

  • Workshops

  • Schools

  • Prototyping

  • Continuous printing

Applications

  • General FDM 3D printing

  • PLA printing

  • PETG printing

  • TPU printing

  • ABS printing

  • ASA printing

  • Composite filament printing where compatible

  • Replacement of worn PEI plate

  • Replacement of damaged spring-steel plate

Compatibility

Compatible with:

  • Anycubic Kobra S1

  • Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo

Do not assume compatibility with other Kobra printers simply because their printing areas appear similar.

Models such as Kobra X, Kobra S1 Max, Kobra 3, and Kobra 3 Max use different build-plate dimensions.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Keeping the textured PEI surface clean is important for maintaining reliable first-layer adhesion.

For routine care:

  • Allow the plate to cool before cleaning

  • Remove filament residue after each print

  • Handle the plate mainly by its edges

  • Avoid touching the printing surface with oily fingers

  • Clean the plate when adhesion begins to decrease

  • Avoid sharp metal scrapers

  • Avoid damaging the textured coating

Surface contamination is a common cause of reduced PEI adhesion.

Installation Note

Before installing the build plate:

  • Clean the magnetic heated bed

  • Remove any filament fragments or debris

  • Align the plate correctly

  • Make sure it sits completely flat

  • Confirm no corner is lifted

  • Run bed leveling when required

  • Check the first layer before starting an important print

Changing to another build plate can slightly alter the nozzle-to-bed relationship, so confirming the first layer after replacement is recommended.

Package Includes

  • 1 × Anycubic Dual Sided Textured PEI Spring Steel Build Plate for Kobra S1 Series

Usage Note

Allow the build plate to cool before removing most finished prints. Models often release more easily after the material and PEI surface return toward room temperature.

For filaments that bond strongly to PEI, use the appropriate release method or separation layer for that material rather than forcing the part from the surface. This helps protect the textured coating and extend the life of the build plate.
