eSUN PLA-Stars is a PLA-based luminous filament designed to create prints with a unique starry glow effect. It combines the easy printability of PLA with decorative luminous particles, making it ideal for creative models, display pieces, gifts, props, and night-themed designs.

After absorbing light from sunlight or UV exposure, printed parts can glow in the dark with a star-like appearance. This makes PLA-Stars especially suitable for decorative objects, toys, cosplay details, signage, and artistic prints where visual impact is more important than mechanical performance.

As a modified PLA material, PLA-Stars is easier to print than ABS and does not require an enclosed chamber. It offers low warping, smooth printing performance, and reliable adhesion when used with suitable PLA print settings.

Luminous Starry Effect

PLA-Stars is designed to create prints that glow in the dark after absorbing light. The effect is stronger when the printed model is exposed to UV light, although sunlight can also charge the luminous particles.

The final glow intensity depends on the light source, exposure time, model thickness, print settings, and the amount of luminous material visible on the printed surface.

Easy PLA-Based Printing

Because PLA-Stars is based on PLA material, it prints with a familiar workflow on most FDM 3D printers. It does not require a heated chamber and is easier to handle than higher-temperature materials such as ABS or ASA.

With proper bed adhesion and cooling, it can produce smooth prints with reduced warping, making it suitable for both small decorative parts and larger creative models.

Designed for Creative Models

PLA-Stars is best suited for visual and decorative applications. It works well for models that benefit from a special night-time effect, such as stars, moons, fantasy models, toys, ornaments, signs, props, and themed display pieces.

It is not intended for high-temperature, heavy-load, or engineering applications. For functional mechanical parts, a stronger engineering filament should be selected.

Nozzle Recommendation

Luminous filaments contain additive particles that may wear standard brass nozzles over time. For longer printing life and more consistent results, a hardened steel or other wear-resistant nozzle is recommended.

This is especially important when printing large models or using PLA-Stars frequently.

Printing Tips

For best results, dry the filament before printing if it has absorbed moisture and store it in a sealed bag or dry box after opening. Use a clean build surface, 100% cooling fan, and moderate printing speeds.

To improve the glow effect, expose the finished print to UV light or strong sunlight before viewing it in a dark environment.
