More info

The BEST FC300-4.0G-S2-B4CF is a 4.0kW Variable Frequency Drive designed for controlling compatible three-phase CNC spindle motors and AC motors from a single-phase 220V power supply.

With a rated output current of 18A and an adjustable output frequency up to 1000Hz, it is particularly suitable for high-speed CNC router spindles, engraving machines, woodworking CNC systems, milling equipment, and other variable-speed motor applications.

The B4CF large-case design provides additional internal space and cooling capacity compared with smaller FC300 enclosures, making it suitable for the higher current requirements of a 4.0kW drive.

Key Features

  • BEST FC300 Series variable frequency drive

  • Model FC300-4.0G-S2-B4CF

  • 4.0kW rated motor / spindle power

  • Single-phase 220V AC input

  • Three-phase 0–220V AC output

  • Rated output current of 18A

  • Adjustable output frequency up to 1000Hz

  • Large-case design suitable for higher-power CNC spindle applications

Designed for CNC Spindle Control

The FC300-4.0G-S2-B4CF is particularly suitable for controlling high-speed three-phase spindle motors used on industrial and larger-format CNC machines.

By adjusting the VFD output frequency, spindle speed can be matched to the cutter, material, and machining process.

It is suitable for applications including:

  • Wood routing

  • Acrylic machining

  • Plastic cutting

  • Aluminium machining

  • CNC carving

  • Sign making

  • Furniture production

  • General CNC milling and engraving

Single-Phase 220V Input to Three-Phase 220V Output

This inverter operates from a single-phase 220V AC power source and generates variable-frequency three-phase output for a compatible 220V three-phase spindle or motor.

This makes it useful for CNC installations where single-phase mains power is available but the spindle requires three-phase variable-frequency operation.

The VFD output must only be connected to a compatible three-phase motor or spindle.

4.0kW Power Capacity

The 4.0kW rating makes this VFD suitable for larger spindle systems requiring more power than common 1.5kW or 2.2kW desktop CNC spindle setups.

It is a practical choice for industrial CNC routers, woodworking machines, larger engraving systems, and machining applications where stronger spindle output is required.

Always confirm that the connected spindle or motor does not exceed the VFD's rated voltage, current, frequency, and power capacity.

Wide 0–1000Hz Output Frequency

The FC300 Series supports output frequencies up to 1000Hz, providing flexibility for both conventional AC motors and high-frequency CNC spindle applications.

Many CNC spindle motors operate at frequencies such as:

  • 300Hz

  • 400Hz

  • 600Hz

The maximum output frequency must always be configured according to the motor or spindle nameplate. Never operate a spindle above its rated frequency or maximum RPM.

Adjustable Spindle Speed

Spindle speed can be controlled by changing the VFD output frequency.

Depending on the machine configuration, speed control can be performed from the VFD keypad or through compatible external machine-control signals.

This allows users to select the appropriate spindle speed for different:

  • Router bits

  • End mills

  • Materials

  • Cutting depths

  • Feed rates

  • Surface finish requirements

External CNC Controller Integration

The FC300 can be integrated with compatible CNC controllers, motion-control boards, breakout boards, PLCs, and other machine-control systems.

Depending on the controller and configuration, external control can be used for functions such as:

  • Spindle start

  • Spindle stop

  • Forward / reverse operation

  • Variable speed control

  • External switching

  • Automated CNC spindle operation

Correct wiring and parameter configuration are required before using external control.

Programmable Acceleration and Deceleration

Acceleration and deceleration times can be programmed according to the connected spindle and machine requirements.

Controlled acceleration reduces sudden current and mechanical stress during startup, while controlled deceleration allows smoother spindle stopping.

For higher-power spindles, suitable acceleration and deceleration settings are particularly important for reliable operation.

Forward and Reverse Motor Control

The VFD supports forward and reverse motor operation when correctly configured.

Most CNC router applications normally use standard forward spindle rotation, but reverse operation can be useful for selected machinery and specialized cutting applications.

Always verify the required spindle rotation direction before machining.

Built-In Protection Functions

The FC300 Series includes protection functions designed to help protect the inverter and connected motor under abnormal operating conditions.

Protection functions include monitoring for conditions such as:

  • Overcurrent

  • Overvoltage

  • Undervoltage

  • Motor overload

  • VFD overheating

  • Output faults

  • Abnormal operating conditions

These protection functions do not replace correct grounding, circuit protection, wiring, ventilation, and motor parameter configuration.

Large B4CF Case Design

This model uses the larger B4-class enclosure required for the higher-current single-phase 4.0kW configuration.

The larger enclosure provides additional internal space and cooling capacity compared with smaller FC300 case sizes.

Adequate ventilation should still be provided around the inverter, particularly when operating a 4.0kW spindle for extended periods.

Active Cooling

The VFD uses active fan cooling to remove heat generated during operation.

Install the inverter in a clean and well-ventilated electrical cabinet or machine area and keep cooling openings unobstructed.

Avoid exposure to:

  • Wood dust

  • Metal particles

  • Excessive moisture

  • Oil mist

  • High ambient temperatures

  • Direct coolant spray

  • Rated power

  • Rated voltage

  • Rated current

  • Rated frequency

  • Maximum frequency

  • Rated RPM

  • Motor type

Important Installation Note

The VFD parameters must be configured according to the connected spindle or motor before operation.

Important parameters include:

  • Motor rated voltage

  • Motor rated current

  • Motor rated frequency

  • Maximum operating frequency

  • Minimum frequency
